The devils in the details.

I have been working in a sorta cartoony style the last couple of months trying to develope some thing that would suit the animation medium. But as of late I have been doing these more detailed drawings, a little more comic book style I think. Paying a lot of attention to anatomy and perspective, although proportion is off in many cases especially in the leg area. Either way I had fun doing these which I think makes a big difference, design has never been my strong suit and trying to draw in a more animated fashion doesn't come naturally to me. Basically it all comes down to experience, just need to draw more. I'm trying to inprove all aspects of my game, I started coloring the skull thing above in PS, its a lot of fun, but makes me realize that I would learn faster with some direction of someone more experienced in PS rather then me just stumbling my way through it. Something to consider.

Cheers

Yow, that Dhalsim is beyond rocking dude. If you're gonna color something, color that! Also, post bigger, i can barely see it.

Yeah these are sweet! I dig the twisty girl and the Dhalsim drawing here. Yeah I think its important to find your own niche even if you're doing cartoon work now, you might be doing something else later. Where you're going with your style reminds me a little bit of Mark Behm's work. He's at Valve now doing animation and concept design and I thought you might enjoy a position like this even if you feel design isn't your forte.
Sorry if my posts were bumming you out. I was feeling overwhelmed coming back from LA about a month ago but my latest comments are more dry humor than anything else. That never translates well on the internet.. I need more of these :P

This stuff is looking good! It's good to draw outside of your comfort level. It makes you better and puts hair on your chest.

Don't get too frustrated with PS. The best way to learn is to stumble around and experiment with it!

Holy crap man, you posted.... more than once! I am sincerely impressed. The second drawing from the top is my fav, the one with the dude pounding his fists together.
