Sometimes I feel that adhering to perfect anatomy hinders me with my drawings. e.g. I want an arm to reflect some type of emotion (happiness, frustration, whatever) but whenever I try to reflect it with a correct and logical elbow joint I lose the emotion. I do several awkward versions of this and then finally just say "screw the elbow". Then the arm does something that no human arm could possibly do BUT it conveys the emotion nicely.

It looks like you have the opposite problem though. Hey, like I said before, keep doodlin' no matter what you do.

Oh, I forgot to post an example of a picture on my blog that demonstrates what I said.

Ahah... look at those NIPS! I'm in lust.

I love the minotaur type character your working on, i prefered the diretion hte one further down the page was taking. He's so gaunty and much meaner looking.

Mr. Graf, don't tell Dan to quit. Yes, I know this is a fierce business and we have to make headway anyway we can but that's just wrong. If anything we need MORE artists in this industry, not less. Right now the executives out-number the artists at like 20:1 or something like that. By encouraging other artists we could bring that number down to 1:1 or better yet 20:1 the other way.

Dan, forget what Chris said. In fact, since it's your blog, you can feel free to delete his comment altogether. Just keep pluggin' and keep dreamin'.

hey germaine...who are you? you leave like 20 comments on one post. try to sum up. btw...we live together.... which would make that last comment an inside joke.

Well, I'm glad to know you were kidding. To indicate such a thing, use something like ";)" next time. :P
